Superintendent Dr. C. T Wallace (Emeritus)

Cleveland Theodore Wallace was born in Trelawny, Jamaica in August 1932; the eldest of 11 children to Mr & Mrs Headley and Loretta Wallace. He accepted the Lord Jesus into his life at the age of 19 and was  a member of the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica. He came to the UK in 1955 and within a short time he sent for and married Ms Evadne Campbell in 1956! On arrival he immediately became a member of The Calvary Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop McLachlan. On the 11th November 1956 Bro. Cleveland was elevated to a Deacon in the church and later in 1963 was ordained as an Elder – and in 1975 he was elected as the “Pastor” of COGIC Leytonstone. During his time at COGIC Leytonstone the church worshipped in a number of locations in Leytonstone; the congregation grew in numbers and there were many faithful members. In 1993, after many years of searching COGIC Leytonstone purchased Wood St Tabernacle; Pastor Wallace, would go on to become a member of the COGIC UK Executive Board and In 1992 Pastor Wallace was elevated as a Superintendent by the late Bishop R.C. Bell. He then became the 1st Administrative Assistant in 1998 after the elevation to the Bishopric of Superintendent Blake and the home going of Bishop Bell.  In October 2005 Superintendent Wallace was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Theology by the European Theological Seminary. Superintendent Cleveland Wallace (also, affectionately called Dad Wallace): until February 2018 had pastored COGIC Leytonstone/Wood St for 43 years - By the Grace of God!

Mother E. Wallace

Sister Evadne Icynthia Campbell, now Mother Wallace, accepted the Lord Jesus into her life in Trelawny, Jamaica. She came to England in 1956 to be married to Brother Cleveland Wallace and was joined in Holy Matrimony on the 10th March 1956. On arrival in the UK, she became a member of The Calvary Church of God in Christ (COGIC) under the leadership of the late Bishop McLachlan.

 

Mother Wallace was called to the ministry on 11th November 1956 and was appointed to the office of Deaconess. On the 2nd August 1970 she was ordained as an Evangelist and later as a ‘Mother’ of COGIC under the leadership of the late Bishop R.C Bell and Mother M.J Bell (Women’s Supervisor).

Up until February 2018, Mother Wallace served alongside her husband Superintendent C.T Wallace at Wood Street Tabernacle COGIC, under the leadership of Bishop A. Blake. Here she still serves as the Women’s President, and was also an adult Sunday school teacher for several years. 

Mother Wallace was a member of The Women’s Board and is a retired member of the National Choir.
